NURSING REGISTRATION ABROAD

Career abroad is a great aspiration of nurses in India. More than 50% of nurses in India, from Kerala in particular look forward for better opportunities in foreign countries. Registration from the land where a nurse intends to work as is an indispensable requirement.

UNITED KINGDOM (UK)

Applicants are required to have accomplished General Nursing or Nursing Graduate programme from recognised institutions in India. Kindly consider following factors to assess yourself to find eligibility to apply for the UK NMC registration and practice nursing.

Aspirant should have minimum 1 (one) year work experience from authorised health care setting where the person has been granted Nursing Council Registration.
Aspirant must have English language proficiency proving certificate (IELTS) valid for 2 (two) years from the date on which the certificate was issued. If the validity of the certificate expires within the process period, the process might be kept held. 
As a result the candidate will be asked to prove English Language proficiency recognised by NMC UK. NB: MINIMUM REQUIRED SCORES FOR IELTS ARE, LISTENING 7.0, SPEAKING 7.0, WRITING 7.0 AND READING 7.0

NEW ZEALAND

Completion of the Competency Assessment Program (CAP) prescribed by the New Zealand Nursing Council (NZNC), by the aspirant nurse is an obligation to work as nurse New Zealand.

AUSTRALIA

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) provides registration for International Nurses after the successful completion of the Initial Registration for International Nurses – Registered Nurses (IRON – RN) program.

IRELAND

Accomplishment of Adaptation program followed by nursing registration enables overseas nurses to work in Ireland as staffs nurse.
Each country has prescribed requirements regarding language proficiency. IELTS is the main certification accepted by most of the nursing councils abroad. Nurses who have completed GNM or BSc Nursing from India can apply for bridging programs conducted by various nursing council abroad. Most of the councils require 1 to 2 years work experience as registered nurse in India and 7 band score for each module in IELTS. Only exemption is in the case of Ireland where the nursing council requires 6.5 band score for listening and reading, 7.0 band score for writing and speaking
